Corgis

About Us

We have a beautiful farm in Western Missouri right outside the Gateway to the Ozarks. We are surrounded by our livestock and beautiful Corgi and European Basset Hound dogs. Our dogs are part of our family and you will often see them running around the farm. We are passionate about our short-legged furry friends and excited to introduce them to you as well. Please enjoy our site (and adorable images of our dogs) and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Gavon and Tammy Hutchison owners of Bar H Farms

Gavon(Gator) and Tammy Hutchison-Owners

Gator and Tammy founded the dream of Bar H Farms in 1995, shortly after their high school sweet heart wedding. Their dream of having a family farm that could be passed down to each generation is now a reality. Together they are a dynamic duo, complimenting each other perfectly. Gator's extensive experience in farming, ranching, and training alongside Tammy's nurturing ability has been vital to their success. Gator was quite successful in field trialing his German Shorthaired Pointer, as well as continually having a working cattle dog that was the envy of each cowboy he met. Tammy was a dedicated public school teacher and student teaching supervisor for many years. Their goal remains the same, to raise a family in the western way of life and to have something great to pass on.

Landon Hutchison professional handler for Bar H Farms

Landon Hutchison- Head Handler and Manager

Our son, Landon has watched each and every brick laid in the foundation of our business. He is a wearer of many hats, each day he can be found responding to applicants, training horses and dogs, taking puppy pictures, as well as providing the best daily care to our dogs, horses, and cattle. He has become a well esteemed professional handler, putting every title and point on our dogs. He has mentored under some of the great professionals and breeders of the past to gain as much knowledge as possible to help our family. He was Gator's shadow from the time he could walk and credits him for his innate feel for a dog and horse. His extensive experience in marketing, training, animal husbandry, and love for competition has proven to be absolutely critical to our family.

Kenya Lear- Pet Nanny and Assistant Handler

Kenya, Gator's sister has been a vital part of our program since she joined us in 2020. She sports a testimony that is truly unmatched, her perseverance and positive outlook is infectious to anyone she encounters. She is truly the best nanny in the business, she treats each puppy as her own and is always willing to take the extra mile. The amount of positive remarks that we have received due to her professionalism is absolutely astounding. When she is not transporting our babies, she can be found traveling with Landon as his assistant handler, helping him gain many of the accolades that he has won with our dogs. We are so thankful for Kenya's dedication to our business.
